Resorts World Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, hosted globally-famous music icon J Balvins at the Ayu Dayclub for three weekends in September, 2021. As part of the festivities, Hire UAV Pro was asked to launch a 250 drone light show for three consecutive weekends, wowing the crowd and coming into view at a key moment in the performance. Spectators were blown away, and the event received a lot of media coverage in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was our first Las Vegas drone light show.
Hire UAV Pro drone light shows have been a staple on the Las Vegas strip. We were approached by Pollen, who was planning the J Balvins event about our capabilities and the feasibility of the drone light show. We came out and did a site visit and determined the large construction area near the hotel was perfectly suitable for our needs. Las Vegas can still be quite hot in September, so we knew we would have to prepare for the heat. We did a lot of our setup and calibrations early on so that we didn’t have to setup outside until 5:30 pm to avoid the heat.
J Balvins is known for both his music and his unique artwork. We were preparing to create a performance that stood out and aligned with J Balvins and his work. We also wanted to make sure that we represented Pollen and Resorts World Casino in our drone light show.
J Balvins unique line of art and imagery were incorporated directly into the show. We were able to animate parts of his artwork as well. This made for a great complement to the stage design and layout of the nightclub.
The drone light show was adjacent to the massive LED screen. It made for a performance that every casino on the strip was talking about due to the massive impact. People could see the show from up to 2 miles in every direction.
A 250 drone light show takes a lot of coordination. It can also be difficult to perform a drone light show for a live event, as many elements with timing can change. Las Vegas, while a beautiful city with tons of entertainment options and live events, can be challenging for performing a drone show. We had to plug in and be ready for long periods of time in order to make sure we hit our mark. By staying closely-aligned with the folks at Pollen, who made our job easy, we were able to save our battery life and launch 3 great launches each weekend. We look forward to working with Pollen and Resorts World again on another Las Vegas drone light show. We are also ready to work with you on your las vegas drone show vision.
