Corporate Drone Shows: A Planning Guide for Event and Marketing Teams

A corporate drone show puts your brand in the sky in front of an audience that cannot look away. For conferences, company milestones and brand launches, it has become one of the few pieces of event production people still film and share on their own.

This guide covers what event and marketing teams need to decide before booking one.

Where Companies Use Drone Shows

  • Conferences and summits as an evening centerpiece or keynote close
  • Company anniversaries and milestones
  • Holiday parties and incentive trips
  • Brand activations and product launches
  • Sports and sponsorship events, stadium partnerships and fan experiences

We have flown corporate and brand shows for clients including Coinbase in San Francisco, ESPN at Navy Pier in Chicago and Jordan Brand.

Start With the Audience

Fleet size follows audience size and distance. A few hundred guests on a rooftop or lawn need far fewer drones than a crowd of thousands watching from across a harbor. As a rough guide, our Kaiken system flies 100 to 200 drones for private and smaller corporate events, and our Damoda V4 system flies 200 to 1,000 for large activations, with RGBW LEDs bright enough to read from a distance.

Your Logo in the Sky

Almost every corporate client wants their logo, and it is the most photographed moment of the show. Send us vector files early. Simple, bold marks read best in drones; fine detail and small text do not. We will tell you honestly what translates.

What to Put in the Brief

  • Date, rain date and approximate show time
  • Venue and where the audience will be standing or seated
  • Audience size
  • Logos, brand colors and any messages or product shapes
  • Music, or whether you want us to source it
  • Whether the show will be filmed for content, and by whom

Venue Questions to Ask Early

Some venues sit under restricted airspace, near airports or inside stadium flight restrictions. That does not usually rule a show out, but it changes lead time. Tell us the venue first and we will check airspace before anything else is planned.

Timeline

Sixty to ninety days is comfortable. Tight corporate timelines are possible when airspace allows, but custom animation, logo work and approvals all take time, so the earlier the brief, the better the show.

What Drives the Budget

Fleet size is the biggest factor, followed by custom animation, travel and show length. Our cost guide breaks it down. Every quote includes pilots, airspace authorization, $10 million in insurance and full production.
