New Year’s Eve is always a big event. This New Year’s Eve, Hire UAV Pro teamed up with Coachella Crossroads and Coachella Day One festival for a massive drone light show performance at midnight. The event would be our largest performance to date featuring over 300 drones animated and choreographed to music and a countdown to midnight. The drone show in Palm Springs and Coachella Valley was well received, with thousands of fans getting to enjoy it, as well as notable music performers such as KRS-ONE, E-40, Lil Wayne, and Shaquille O’neal.
Performing a drone light show on the scale of 300 drones is no simple task. It took close coordination with all of the event planners at Coachella Crossroads, the artists’ managers, and the Spotlight Casino in Indio, California. It helps that Hireuavpro.com has extensive experience with drone light show production in California, and specifically in the Palm Springs, Coachella, and Indio areas. The location can sometimes present challenges, such as dust storms and blowing winds, which were both experienced by us on New Year’s Eve. However, with good ground control and with attention to the weather, we were able to safely fly the 300 drone light show at the key moment needed.
Shaquille O’neal was scheduled to be performing at the New Year’s ball drop. However, at the last minute he was replaced by KSHMR – a world famous DJ with a global following due to Shaq testing positive for Covid-19. The event was still a success, drawing in thousands of excited fans to see all of the performances, capped off by the Drone Light Show at midnight.
