Terra Imaging was founded with a vision to bring geospatial, 3D military simulation technology to the entertainment, video game and motion picture industries. Focusing on geospatial technologies of: satellite remote sensing, airborne photogrammetry, LiDAR and 3D stereo mapping technologies; Karl Engstrom helped forge the development of several proprietary, 3D geospatial engines, built specifically for 3D combat simulation and 3D urban visualization. During the late 90′s, Engstrom led a team of geospatial experts as Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer for Pacific GIS, a geospatial software firm launched within the GIS and Remote Sensing research labs of UCSB. As Founder and CEO of Terra Imaging, Karl Engstrom has forged successful, long term relationships with Microsoft Bing Maps, Google Earth, EA Sports, USGA and the PGA Tour. University of California, Santa Barbara with graduate research in the fields of Oceanography and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
